For ages 5 to 14 In several languages Designed for tablets For the whole family

A short routine that keeps itself going

You don't need to sit with them every day. The app prepares the practice and you just choose the rewards.

  1. Create their profile

Choose their school year and language. The app tunes every exercise to what is taught in class at that level.

  2. One activity a day

A few varied steps: read a text, write a word, solve a sum. Ten minutes is enough.

  3. Earn credits and spend them

Each completed activity adds one credit. With them they get the rewards you have set.

What they practise

Five kinds of exercise mixed into every activity. You can switch on only the ones you want.

Reading aloud

A new text every day, written for their level. They read aloud and the tablet listens: each word read correctly turns green, and if they slip, they can try again.

Ages 5 to 12

The lighthouse turns on its light every night.

Spelling

They hear a word and choose how it is spelt from three options. When they get it right, a short rule explains why.

Handwritten dictation

They write the word with a finger on the screen and the app reads it exactly as written, mistakes included. You choose whether they write in print, in joined-up handwriting or both, and each word tells them which one to use. If the handwriting is unclear, they are asked to write it again without it counting as a mistake.

Addition and subtraction

Set out in columns, like at school, and they type the answer on a big keypad. It starts with numbers up to 10 and builds up to two-digit sums with carrying.

Ages 5 to 10

Times tables

Times tables with three possible answers. The ones they miss come back on later days until they master them.

Effort turns into rewards that you choose

Every completed activity is one credit. In the reward shop they can see how much is left and, when they get there, swap it for a voucher to show you.

  • You set the rewards and their price: an ice cream, an afternoon at the park, picking Saturday's film.
  • They watch their balance grow with every activity and learn to save for what they want most.
  • When they spend their credits they get a voucher. You mark it as done when you hand over the reward.
  • You can add or remove credits by hand in the settings, for example for a chore well done.

Keeping at it pays off too

Every day with at least one activity adds to their streak. When they reach the number of days in a row you have chosen, they earn bonus credits.

  • You decide how many days in a row they need and how many credits the bonus is worth. If you don't want streaks, you can switch them off.
  • The home screen shows how many days they have done and whether they have practised today.
  • If they skip a day, the streak goes back to zero. When they complete it, they get the credits and a new streak begins.

You know how it's going without having to ask

After every activity you get a clear summary of what went well and what is worth reviewing.

Activity report

Good session for Leo: he read the text smoothly and got the sums right first time. In the times tables he mixed up 7 × 8 with 54 before getting it right. Suggestion: practise the 7 times table with a game this week.

Written by AI from the results, with no personal data.
  • Mistakes come back until mastered

Every word or sum they miss comes back the next day, then three days later, then a week later. Once they get it right several times in a row, it counts as learnt.

  • Practise the words from school

Take a photo of a school dictation or vocabulary list and those words become part of their daily practice.

  • Progress with real numbers

Activities, first-try accuracy, minutes practised and the most frequent mistakes, by week or by month.

  • For the whole family

A profile for each child and access for every adult you choose, each with their own account. Everyone sees the same thing instantly.

Frequently asked questions

What ages is it for?

From age 5 to 14, following the Spanish school years. Each exercise knows which years it is designed for and picks its level from your child's year. If they are ahead or need to go slower, you can set the level by hand.

Which languages does it support?

Peculio works in several languages and we will keep adding more. Each child can practise in their own language, even if you use the app in another.

What device do we need?

It is designed for tablets, though it works on phones and computers too. It runs in the browser with nothing to install, and you can add it to your home screen like any other app. Reading aloud needs a microphone and a browser such as Chrome or Safari.

What happens to my child's data?

The account belongs to you, the adults in the family. To write texts and reports, the AI only receives the school year and the results, never your child's name. Photos of school worksheets are not stored, only the words you decide to add. You can ask us to delete all your data whenever you like.

Can more than one adult use it?

Yes. Whoever creates the profile can invite other adults in the family with a code. Each signs in with their own account and everyone sees and manages the same things: credits, rewards, settings and reports.

How much does it cost?

Right now, nothing: during the beta every feature is free and no card is needed. When it ends, the free plan will remain and the complete plan will cost €4.99 a month, which you can cancel at any time. We will let you know well in advance before anything changes.

Why is it called Peculio?

In ancient Rome, the peculium was the small fund entrusted to children so they could learn to manage it. Here they earn it by learning: every activity adds credits to their peculium, and they decide what to spend it on.

Are there ads?

No. No ads and no in-app purchases aimed at children.
